UK Men’s Tennis Adds Heman Nama to Roster
LEXINGTON, Ky. – With its Spring 2020 schedule set to commence on Thursday, the Kentucky men’s tennis team added one final piece to its current roster. Heman Nama will join the team for the remainder of the 2019-20 season with plans to sit out competition as a freshman.
“We are delighted to bring Heman to Kentucky,” said head coach Cedric Kauffmann. “He is an excellent kid and has been very well trained by (former Kentucky All-American) Jesse Witten. He is a very hard worker, possesses good hands, and with the right training, he has the potential to be very successful.”
Nama comes to Lexington from Bangalore, India, by way of Seacrest Country Day School in Naples, Florida. Nama’s resume includes an ITF G5 junior doubles championship and an ITF G4 junior doubles finals appearance, as well as a top-20 junior ranking in India prior to his move to the United States.
Kentucky will host a doubleheader versus Cleveland State and Toledo on Thursday at Hilary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Complex. First serve with Cleveland State is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET, while the Cats and Rockets will begin the second installment at 4 p.m.
