Registration for 2019 John Calipari Draft Academy Now Open

by Eric Lindsey

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky’s 2019 NBA Draft class will be headed to new cities to play basketball now that they’re in the professional ranks, but UK’s four draft-eligible Wildcats are coming home to host a camp before they suit up in their first regular-season NBA games.

Tyler Herro, Keldon Johnson, PJ Washington and Reid Travis will be the featured pros at this year’s 2019 John Calipari Draft Academy, which will be held Aug. 1 and 2 at the Joe Craft Center/Memorial Coliseum complex (338 Lexington Ave.) on the University of Kentucky campus.

The four pros will be in attendance for both sessions on one of the two dates. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from the newly minted professionals as they begin their NBA careers.

Players available are subject to change. Other pros may be added at a later date.

Registration is now open with online registration (or visit UKathletics.com/camps) recommended as the fastest and most efficient form of registering campers. A limited number of spots are available for all camps and are based on a first-come, first-served basis.

As in years past, the camp will be split into two separate sessions, all of which will be held at the Craft Center and Memorial Coliseum. The sessions will be divided into morning and afternoon groups with varying pros from Kentucky’s 2019 NBA Draft class in attendance.

The cost for the Calipari Draft Academy is $199 per camper and includes a camp T-shirt, instruction, competitions, autograph session and camp team photo with the featured Wildcat pros. The camp is open to both boys and girls ages 7-17.

The University of Kentucky’s camps and clinics are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).

NCAA rules prohibit payment of camp expenses (camp tuition, transportation, spending money, etc.) for prospects (any individual who has started classes for the seventh grade) by University of Kentucky boosters. NCAA rules also prohibit free or reduced camp admissions for prospects. If you have any questions, notify camp officials prior to attending camp.
