Gabby Curry Crowned SEC Defensive Player of the Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky Volleyball junior libero Gabby Curry was crowned the Southeastern Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday by the conference office. It is Curry’s second-consecutive week winning the award.
 
The Buford, Georgia, native averaged a massive 5.57 digs per set on the week, including setting a new SEC-career high with 29 digs in Sunday’s win on the road at Ole Miss. The Wildcats defeated the Rebels 3-1 on the heels of a 3-0 sweep of LSU on Wednesday night.
 
Curry added in four assists on Sunday and on the season is now averaging 1.27 assists per set, which is second on the team behind Madison Lilley. Curry leads the Wildcats with a 4.53 season average in digs per set.
