ORLANDO, Fla. – No. 49 Kentucky (6-5) will make its way down to the Sunshine State for one more tune-up before opening Southeastern Conference play next month, taking on No. 21 Oklahoma (7-2) on Sunday at noon ET in the USTA National Campus Collegiate Series.

“We are really looking forward to taking on Oklahoma,” said UK assistant coach Matthew Gordon. “Last week was tough on us, but we are more motivated than ever and will be looking to bounce back Sunday.”

Last Wednesday, the Wildcats fell 4-0 at the hands of No. 1 Ohio State in their second true road match of the spring season. Kentucky totes a 1-1 record in neutral-site matches, splitting results at last month’s ITA Kick-Off Weekend with a 4-3 loss to Dartmouth and a 4-0 sweep of Virginia Tech.

In the midst of last week’s loss to the Buckeyes, senior Ryo Matsumura improved upon his ITA National Singles Ranking with a jump to No. 29. The 2018 ITA All-American holds a 7-3 record on the season, with six wins coming as the Cats’ top singles participant.

Sunday marks Oklahoma’s third straight bout with an SEC opponent, winning 5-2 at Arkansas on Feb. 16 and taking on No. 9 Mississippi State in its USTA National Campus Collegiate Series opener on Saturday at 1 p.m.
