LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky track and field teams picked up 15 First Team All-America honors (12 women’s, three men’s) for the 2018 outdoor track and field season, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Monday.

The UK women’s team (12) was one of eight different programs brought home double-digit First Team All-America honors.

Student-athletes earned First-Team All-America status by virtue of finishing among the top-eight of their events, including as members of a relay team, at the 2018 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Eugene, Oregon. Second-Team All-America honors went to those student-athletes who finished between ninth and 16th place.

The UK Women’s team placed fourth, and the men’s team finished 16th at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Women’s First Team
Jasmine Camacho-Quinn was one of seven individuals throughout the nation to earn All-America status in three events. Camacho-Quinn won the 100m hurdles for the second time in her career and was on both of UK’s fourth-place relays.

For the season she earned six First Team All-America honors, having joined teammate Sydney McLaughlin as the only two women to earn First Team All-America status in three events indoors.

McLaughlin was named to the First Team in the 400m hurdles, which she won, and the 4x400m relay. She made the First Team in five events in her freshman season including indoors.

Having claimed bronze on Saturday, Marie-Josee Ebwea-Bile earned First-Team triple jump honors for the second year in a row outdoors, to go along with the same accolade she earned indoors this past March.

UK took fourth place in the 4x100m relay with Celera Barnes, the aforementioned Camacho-Quinn, Kayelle Clarke and Kianna Gray earning a spot of the first team. UK’s 4x400m relay of Faith Ross, Camacho-Quinn, McLaughlin and Clarke also earned First-Team status having placed fourth.

Clarke was named to the First Team in both relays, after taking the same honor in the 4×4 indoors this past season, plus on the NCAA Champion 4×1 last season.

Men’s First Team
NCAA decathlon Champion Tim Duckworth earned First-Team status outdoors for the first time, and third time overall, having won the indoor heptathlon this year and placed second in the event a year ago.

Elijah Marta earned the honor in the javelin after placing sixth with a three-meter personal best. Jacob Thomson picked up First Team honors for the second time in the 10k, and added the honor to his 2018 indoor 5k accolade.

Women’s second team
Katy Kunc (3k steeplechase) was named to the second team after making the NCAA final for the second year in a row. The senior wrapped her career having also earned the honor in cross country in 2016.

Ellen Ekholm earned the status for the first time, placing 10th in the high jump. Barnes added a second-team honor in the 100m to go along with her First-Team accolade in the 4×1.

Men’s second team
Noah Castle (discus), and UK’s 16th-place 4x100m relay of Daniel Roberts, Dwight St. Hillaire, Fred Dorsey and EJ Floreal were named to the second team.
