Kalil ElMedkhar Named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky Men’s Soccer sophomore Kalil ElMedkhar was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after tallying seven points in two wins last week.
He was awarded a weekly honor from the conference for the first time in his UK career.
ElMedkhar had a part in all five of Kentucky’s goals last week.
In a 3-0 win against ETSU, he assisted both of JJ Williams’ goals before scoring himself. The sophomore then scored the equalizer and tallied an assist in a 2-1 win at South Carolina.
His seven points (two for each goal, one for each assist) last week brought him to 11 total, good for fourth in the conference. The two wins helped preserve Kentucky’s perfect conference record.
The next one
Kentucky will return to The Bell on Wednesday for a highly anticipated non-conference rivalry showdown of top-five RPI sides. No. 2 Indiana will arrive in Lexington with a nine-match winning streak, while No. 7 UK has four-straight wins and is unbeaten through nine.
