No. 9 Kentucky Hosts No. 20 Missouri to Continue SEC Action

LEXINGTON, Ky. –  The No. 9 Kentucky (5-4, 2-4 SEC) gymnastics team will return to Memorial Coliseum on Friday to face No. 20 Missouri (3-5, 1-4 SEC). The meet will begin at 7 p.m. with introductions taking place at 6:45 p.m. The meet can be watched live on SEC Network+ and the Watch ESPN app.
 
Last week at Alabama, sophomore Mollie Korth won the all-around title with a 39.550, while junior Alex Hyland won the beam title with a 9.925. The Crimson Tide beat the Wildcats, 196.925 – 196.375.
 
Scouting the Tigers
Missouri is ranked No. 20 in the country with an average score of 195.663 and a high of 196.375. Mizzou’s best event is the vault, where they are ranked No. 13 in the nation with an average of 49.038 and a high of 49.150. Missouri is the 21st-ranked team on the beam, No. 27 on bars and No. 28 on the floor. Madeleine Huber is the Tigers’ best vaulter so far this season, averaging a 9.821. Allison Bower is the No. 21 all-arounder this season with an average of 39.300. Mizzou’s lone SEC win this season was over No. 8 Arkansas, where they won 196.325 -196.150. Missouri also beat Arkansas in a non-conference meet last week.
 
Kentucky in the Team Rankings
The Wildcats are ranked No. 9 in the nation for the second-straight week. Kentucky averages a 196.329, and is the fourth-best Southeastern Conference team, behind LSU, Florida and Alabama. UK has been ranked in the top-10 the entire season.
 
Kentucky in the Event Rankings
The Wildcats sit in the top-20 in every apparatus, with its best coming on vault. UK is averaging a 49.125 on vault at No. 8 in the nation, with a high of 49.525. UK comes in at No. 10 on the floor at 49.179, No. 11 on the beam at 49.061 and No. 18 on bars at 48.964.
 
Individually, Alex Hyland is the best all-arounder for UK with an average of 39.356. Hyland is also the best UK athlete on beam at No. 13 with a 9.875 average.
 
All-Around and Beam Wins
At Alabama last week, Mollie Korth earned her 10th all-around title of her career and her second against Alabama with a 39.550. Korth’s all-around score was tied the ninth-best score in program history. Alex Hyland won her 15th beam title against the Crimson Tide with a season high score of 9.925.
