Kentucky to Spend Weekend at Clemson Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Kentucky track and field will take its first road trip of 2018 this weekend at the Clemson Invitational.

The meet starts Friday and continues Saturday. Adkins timing associates is handling live results.
 
Clemson, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, J.C. Smith, Penn State, Purdue and Virginia Tech.
 
The meet begins Friday morning with returning NCAA heptathlon silver medalist Tim Duckworth in his first heptathlon of the year starting at 9:30 a.m. ET.
 
Duckworth is actually ranked fourth in the nation in the open long jump this season having reached 25’4″/7.72m in December.

The Kentucky women’s team is ranked No. 9 in the preseason USTFCCCA rankings, while the men’s team is ranked 18th.
 
Junior Olivia Gruver was named Southeastern Conference Field Athlete of the Week, and Dwight St. Hillaire picked up SEC Freshman of the Week honors from the league office.
 
Gruver was named National Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday.
 
Jasmine Camacho-Quinn is scheduled to run in the 60m hurdles on Friday. The reigning Southeastern Conference Champion has the fastest time in the country this season, having run 8.04 in December. She was top collegian at the Kentucky Invitational last week, and in undefeated in finals against collegiate competition this young season.

Marie-Josee Ebwea-Bile is the top-ranked triple jumper in the nation at the moment (44’8.75″/13.63m), while Latavia Coombs is ranked fifth (43’1.75″/13.15m).
 
Kentucky won eight events at its home opener a week ago, the Kentucky Invitational.
