INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – The Kentucky women’s tennis team closed its run at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships on Thursday night. Junior Justina Mikulskyte fell in the singles consolation bracket, while No. 13 Akvile Paražinskaite and Mami Adachi were defeated in the doubles round of 16.

In its second-round matchup, Kentucky’s tandem of Adachi and Paražinskaite went all the way to the wire, but dropped a tough 6-2, 7-5, 1-0 (8), decision to Wesleyan’s Eudice Chong/Victoria Yu.

After dropping a tough three-set match in Wednesday’s opening round of the singles draw, Mikulskyte faced another challenge today going three sets with No. 39 Petra Granic from Texas. Mikulskyte won the first set, 7-5, but ultimately fell, 7-5, 6-2, 6-1.

With the conclusion of the ITA Fall Championships, Kentucky’s fall season comes to a close. The Wildcats will return to action in 2018, opening spring action at the Miami Spring Invite, Jan. 17-19, before beginning its dual season on Jan. 24 with a double-header against Miami (Ohio) and Northern Kentucky.
