UK Athletics appreciates the support that the Big Blue Nation provides to our student-athletes.  NCAA rules require that institutions both educate and monitor the interaction that the BBN has with our prospective and enrolled student-athletes.  It is important to note that NCAA rules very clearly state that a recruit or student-athletes and their friends/family members are not permitted to receive any extra benefit from a fan.  This would include gifts, cash, the use of an automobile, transportation, a loan of money, meals, lodging, tickets, suite access or any other item of value.  Additionally, recruits and student-athletes are required to pay for any service that they receive (i.e., haircuts, tattoos, automobile maintenance, retail purchases, etc.).  These violations can put student-athletes at risk and prevent them from competing in their sport.
