LEXINGTON, Ky. – In preparation for the Kentucky women’s golf team’s return to the course in late January for the all-important spring season, UKathletics.com will be featuring a profile on each of the Wildcats in the “Meet the Wildcats” series. The weekly series is an opportunity to get to know a little more about the 2015-16 Kentucky women’s golf team.
The series continues this week with senior Cylia Damera.
Damerau has been one of the stalwarts of the program for the last several years, competing in 30 tournaments over the last three-and-a-half seasons. She’s finished in the top 10 twice in her career in addition to a 12th-place finish at the 2015 Southeastern Conference Championship.
The Switzerland native returned to UK in the fall with the top returning stroke average.
Before coming to Kentucky, Damerau won a bronze medal with the Swiss Ladies European Team at the Euro Championship and won the 2011 Swiss Juniors Championship.
