A standout member of the UK volleyball team, the Muncie, Indiana, product also excels in the community and the classroom. Bergren was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America Second Team last season, becoming the ninth player in program history to earn first or second team accolades. Bergren led UK with 1,291 assists in 2014, the second most in a single season in program history in the 25-point rally scoring era. She directed the 2014 UK offense to a .272 hitting percentage and a Southeastern Conference-best 14.25 kills per set, both the highest totals by the Wildcats since 2009. She also earned AVCA All-Region honors and being named to the All-SEC team in 2014. Bergren is a “Connecting the Dots” mentor, where she mentors an underprivileged middle schooler for a half hour every Thursday. She also volunteers for the Special Olympics, Cardinal Hill “Fun Day” and has helped out­­­­ at the UK Children’s Hospital, VA Hospital and the Hope Lodge on multiple occasions in addition to taking part in FCEA Read Across America and Salvation Army bell ringing. She has a 3.679 cumulative GPA in Kinesiology and Health Promotion with a certificate in K-12 Teaching.

A fifth-year senior out of Paso Robles, California, Bernal has been a key member of the UK lineup for three consecutive seasons. A slick-fielding first-baseman, Bernal is a career .314 hitter and had an outstanding year as a junior in 2014, hitting .305 with a homer and 32 RBI. In the classroom, Bernal has a 3.2 cumulative GPA and has already graduated with a degree in agriculture economics, and is working to finish his second degree in communications. A three-year member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, Bernal has aspirations to obtain a law degree and become a player representative. Active in the community, he has worked with God’s Pantry, the Bluegrass Miracle League and the UK Children’s Hospital.

Senior guard Bria Goss enters the Frank G. Ham Society of Character as one of head coach Matthew Mitchell’s hardest working players on and off the court in his tenure at Kentucky. Goss, who was the 2012 SEC Freshman of the Year and All-SEC, currently ranks No. 22 on the UK all-time scoring list and last season became the 29th player to score 1,000 career points at Kentucky. Goss in 2014-15 was dealt a tough blow, as she broke her thumb and missed six games of her senior season before returning against the Florida Gators on Jan. 15. Even with her injury, Goss this season is averaging 7.9 points per game and 3.1 rebounds per game. The Indianapolis, Indiana, native is known for her ability to knock down free throws and currently ranks sixth on UK’s career list for free throws made and is fourth in FT percentage. She also has been working hard off the court as she finishes up her degree in communications in the spring. Goss spent a week this summer in Ethiopia helping to rebuild troubled communities and spend time with local kids at schools and housing locations, aiding their quality of life. Goss helped bag and pass out food, rebuild schools, paint buildings and connect with the locals. She also served as a member of God’s Pantry and “Shooting for the Stars.”

A versatile midfielder out of Sterling, Virginia, Dallaire returned to the pitch in 2014 to help the Wildcats to their best finish in the NCAA Tournament in program history. After tearing her ACL and missing the 2013 season, Dallaire returned to play in seven games in 2014. As a freshman, she played in 11 games, logging key minutes in wins over No. 12 Louisville and No. 13 Florida. Dallaire has a 4.0 cumulative GPA in pre-med, with a focus in social work. She has a desire to serve as a doctor to impoverished areas and valued a social work academic emphasis in her undergraduate preparations. A four-time member of the Athletics Director’s Academic Honor Roll, and the UK Dean’s List, she has been in the UK Honors Program, a Collegiate Plate Scholar and earned the National Excellence Scholarship since 2012. Dallaire is highly active as a volunteer, working extensively with St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House. She has also volunteered with the UK Children’s Hospital, God’s Pantry and the Salvation Army. She did her internship with the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department during the summer. Dallaire graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Alexandria, Virginia, with a 4.3 cumulative GPA.

A junior thrower out of Brecksville, Ohio, Famurewa’s time has been a case study in perseverance. Graduating a semester early, Famurewa is a three-time honorable mention All-America selection (2013, 2014 discus, 2014 Hammer Throw), the 2013 USATF Junior Championship Silver Medalist in the discus throw, the 2013 SEC Bronze Medalist in the discus, UK freshman record holder in discus throw, and a SEC All-Freshman Team selection. She also recently broke the school record in the weight throw, accomplishing all those feats by the early part of her junior season athletically. And Famurewa has also logged 38 hours of community service with experience having worked several part-time jobs.

A versatile forward out of Fairfax, Virginia, Fitzgerald is coming off a strong junior season in 2014, helping the Wildcats to a school-record finish in the NCAA Tournament. She notched her first career assist in 2014 in a rivalry tilt with Louisville, appearing in 16 games with two starts. Fitzgerald has a 3.479 cumulative GPA as a kinesiology major, with aspirations to be a physical therapist. She is a recipient of the 2013 Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar Award and is a three-time member of the UK Dean’s List, and a two-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Fitzgerald has volunteered extensively with the Ronald McDonald House, also working with the Salvation Army, the UK Children’s Hospital and God’s Pantry, also working with the Lexington Futbol Club as a coach. She also attended a UK Athletics service trip to Ethiopia.

A women’s tennis captain, Fox is also a standout student. A SEC All-Freshman team selection in 2012, Fox has earned a 3.7 GPA in marketing, also being named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll three times, and the Dean’s List four times. She has extensive community service experience, having volunteered on a 100-hour mission trip in Ethiopia, and having provided basketball and tennis lessons to underprivileged children in Oregon. She volunteered as part of the Cats Cultivating Character program, the United Way Collection Drive, the First Presbyterian Church Christmas Drive and the United Way Collection Drive among many other contributions.

Hill, a senior swimmer last season, was a team captain who is an excellent leader and an even better student. A member of teams that competed at multiple SEC Championships, Hill has maintained a 4.0 GPA with a major in business. She also goes above and beyond to give back to the community as she paid her own way to the UK Athletics service trip to Ethiopia. She is secretary and representative to the UK Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and has been named to the SEC Honor Roll, Athletic Director’s Honor Roll multiple times. She is also a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society.

A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Irving is one of the top goalkeepers in collegiate soccer, earning NSCAA All-America honors and C-USA Player of the Year accolades in 2014. Irving led UK to a NCAA Tournament hosting berth, his second in three years, posting a 0.77 goals-against average – the fourth-best total in UK single-season history. He tallied 10 shutouts, the fourth most in the NCAA. With a 0.98 goals-against average in his career, Irving ranks third in UK history, and his 17 shutouts are just five away from the school mark. A NSCAA College Scholar All-American – one of the highest academic honors in collegiate soccer – Irving has a 3.692 cumulative GPA as a history major. A three-year member of the SEC Academic, the UK Dean’s List and C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll, Irving is active in the community, volunteering with God’s Pantry, the UK Children’s Hospital, youth soccer leagues and local elementary schools.

An intelligent, resourceful and energetic member of the UK track and field program, Imbert has earned great respect, admiration and popularity among her peers. A Business Management and Marketing student, Imbert has transitioned seamlessly from a quality high-jumper and multi-event athlete into an undergraduate assistant coaching role with the track and field teams. She is a William C. Parker Scholarship Recipient and has been named to the Dean’s List and the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Standout senior catcher out of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Joiner is one of the top performers in UK softball history and has started all 191 games in her three-year career. A two-time SEC All-Defensive Team selection, Joiner is a career .304 hitter with 33 doubles, 24 homers and 100 RBI, also throwing out 44 would-be base stealers. She owns a .426 career on-base percentage and has 21 more walks than strikeouts in her career. She helped lead UK to its first ever WCWS in 2014 with a .309 average, 10 homers and 39 RBI. Joiner has a 3.889 cumulative GPA as a kinesiology, exercise science major. A three-year member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, a two-time member of the Athletics Director’s Honor Roll and a two-time NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete, Joiner has future aspirations to coach softball. She is highly active in the community, volunteering at a local elementary school, with United Way, God’s Pantry, Salvation Army, Ronald McDonald House, UK Children’s Hospital, UK Fusion and the YMCA. Won the 2014 Catspy for Supporting Role.

Keirns, a Franklin, Tennessee, native is a key member of the up-and-coming women’s swimming and diving program. She has found success at UK both in the pool and the classroom. She was named to the 2014 SEC Academic Honor Roll, and the 2013 and 2014 Spring Semester Dean’s List. An integrated strategic communications major with a 3.35 GPA, Keirns has used her education to help a non-profit organization in the Township of Gugulethu while studying abroad in South Africa. She is a leader on the swimming and diving team. Keirns traveled to Ethiopia as part of a UK service trip in the summer of 2014, where she packed and distributed meals to widows, visited homes and churches and interacted with people in a culture that had been foreign to her. She has also volunteered extensively for Habitat for Humanity, College Mentors for Kids, God’s Pantry among many other positive contributions to the community.

Manning, a native of London, Kentucky, has been a vital member of the UK rifle team since arriving on campus for the 2011-12 season. Through hard work and determination, Manning has transformed himself into a key contributor. As a junior, Manning charted a season-high 590 in air rifle vs. Army. His sophomore season was highlighted by a 591 in air rifle in a win over West Virginia, helping UK clinch the GARC Championship. Manning went from a 576.6 average in air rifle as a freshman to a 582.3 mark as a junior. Manning is pre-medicine and has a 3.6 cumulative GPA as an agricultural biotech major. Manning has worked the last two summers with the Area Health Education Center’s Summer Enrichment Program as a resident assistant. He has aspirations to serve as a doctor in the United States military. He has served as a volunteer with 4-H, God’s Pantry, the Special Olympics, UK’s Fusion program and the Habitat for Humanity, also serving has a volunteer liaison for the Saint Joseph London surgical unit.

A senior out of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Lockridge was a valuable attacking player for Kentucky, helping pace the Wildcats to the best NCAA Tournament finish in school history in 2014. Lockridge played in 11 games as a senior, including notching her first career assist. Lockridge will graduate in May with a degree in corporate communications with a minor in business, completing all of her course requirements in just three years. A lifelong fan of UK women’s soccer, she owns a 4.0 cumulative GPA and was honored as a prestigious Chellgren Student Fellow in 2013. She is active in the community, working with the Salvation Army, God’s Pantry, Athletes in Action and the UK Children’s Hospital, also volunteering with several youth soccer groups.

A junior gymnast from San Antonio, Texas, Phipps’ hard work led to her earning a scholarship for the 2014-15 season. A contributor on floor exercise since her freshman season, Phipps has developed skills on multiple apparatus to help the team. Phipps has maintained a 3.63 GPA in psychology while at UK. She is a recipient of the William T. Parker Scholarship, and made the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll as a freshman. She is also a two-team member of the SEC Honor Roll, a two-time Scholastic All-American and was named to the SEC Community Service Team last year after logging extensive hours helping out those in need.

A native of Crestwood, Kentucky, Pitts was part of the 2014 UK men’s soccer team that finished second in the Conference USA and returned to the NCAA Tournament. A 3.73 economics student, Pitts also has completed 20 hours of community service. He has been named to the Dean’s List four times at UK, and also earned an Academic Excellence scholarship. He has also been named to the C-USA and SEC honor rolls twice each.

A redshirt sophomore defender out of Kingwood, Texas, Warfel played in three games in 2014, after earning her first action as a sophomore in 2013. Warfel has a 3.632 GPA as a communication science and disorders major, with aspirations to become a speech pathologist. She is a two-year member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, a three-time member of the UK Dean’s List, a two-time recipient of the Academic Excellence Scholarship and the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. She is also a member of the Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She has twice gone on extensive mission trips, and has volunteered with God’s Pantry, Salvation Army, the UK Children’s Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House and serving meals to homeless in downtown Lexington through a local church.

A senior sprinter from Newnan, Georgia, Whaley approaches every day looking to excel in athletics the same as she does in academics. A 3.6 student majoring in Kinesiology and Health Promotion, Whaley also showed drastic improvement last season when she qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 400M as well as the 4x400M Relay. She is a William C. Parker Academic Diversity Recipient. Whaley has made the College of Education Dean’s List all four of her years at UK, and is a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll awardee, having also been named to the SEC Freshman Honor Roll. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Phi Sigma Delta National Honor Society. Additionally Whaley has extensive community service experience, and took part in UK’s annual Ethiopia service trip.
