LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky true freshman punter Landon Foster has been honored as Honorable Mention Punter of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards, based on his efforts vs. Mississippi State on Saturday.

Foster punted eight times for a 43.8-yard average.  He had four punts of 50 yards or longer, including a career-best 56-yard boot.  He also dropped three punts inside the MSU 20-yard line.  

Foster, from Franklin, Tenn., has been chosen Honorable Mention Punter of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards three times this season, also for the Louisville and Kent State games.

Strength of Schedule Now Fifth Nationally: Following Saturday’s game vs. Mississippi State – Kentucky’s third-consecutive undefeated, ranked  opponent – the Wildcats’ strength of schedule has moved to the fifth-toughest in the country, according to the Sagarin Computer Ratings in USA Today.

Here are some notes on the Kentucky schedule:

• Kentucky’s six opponents have a combined record of 29-2.  

• Not including games against Kentucky, UK’s opponents are 24-1, with the lone loss coming at No. 1-ranked Alabama.

• Four of UK’s first six opponents were in the national rankings at the time of the game.  It’s only the fourth time in school history – and the first time in 42 years – that UK played four ranked foes in the first six games.  The other occurrences were in 1957, 1969 and 1970.
