LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky men’s soccer head coach Johan Cedergren has released 10 newcomers and the entire 2012 roster, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Cedergren announced three signees earlier in March and has completed the roster with 10 additional newcomers on the 2012, 25-man roster. After Caleb Richardson (Highland Village, Texas), Jacob Searce (Louisville, Ky.) and Jacob Speed (Mansfield, Texas) signed with the Wildcats in March, Cedergren completed the roster with an additional 10 talents.
UK’s newcomers include Dustin Scibilia (Escondido, Calif.), Bryan Celis (Houston, Texas), Lawson Crider (Mayfield, Ky.), Isak Krogstad (Tromsoe, Norway), Adam Pettys (Los Angeles, Calif.), Jason Pitts (Valparaiso, Ind.), Cally Irving (Vancouver, British Columbia), Dary DeWalt (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Krostoffer Tollesfsen (Sandefjord, Norway).
“This is a very strong group of players that will have a huge impact on this program throughout their collegiate careers,” Cedergren said. “They bring a variety of talents to Lexington and we are thrilled to bring them into the UK family. We are all looking forward to getting out on the pitch in August and get ready for the season opener.”
UK also returns several talented players from its 2011 season, including its top three scorers in forward Tyler Riggs (11 goals, five assists), forward Matt Lodge (seven goals, 10 assists) and midfielder Charles Pettys (three goals, seven assists).
The Wildcats will open up the 2012 season on Aug. 26 at Dayton at 5 p.m. ET. UK will open up its home schedule on Sept. 7 with the annual UK Invitational at the UK Soccer Complex, hosting St. Joseph’s and Charlotte.
