Team Records and Series Notes

  • Kentucky improves to 19-6 overall, 8-4 SEC while LSU falls to 17-10, 7-6 SEC.
  • A season-high 7,646 attended today’s “WBCA Pink Zone game.” It ranks seventh all-time in Memorial Coliseum history.
  • The Lady Tigers lead the overall series 28-9 including a 10-4 advantage when the game is played in Lexington.
  • This marked UK’s second-straight win over LSU but its first in Lexington since 1994 (89-71).
  • UK has eight or more SEC wins for the second consecutive season and the third time in the four years of the Matthew Mitchell era.
  • Coach Matthew Mitchell is now 110-75 overall, 80-46 in SEC play, including a 2-5 record all-time against LSU.
  • Kentucky is now 339-140 in Memorial Coliseum, including a 50-16 record at home under Coach Mitchell.

Team Game Notes

  • Kentucky started with the lineup of Victoria Dunlap, A’dia Mathies, Carly Morrow, Brittany Henderson and Kastine Evans for the ninth consecutive game. This lineup is now 8-2.
    • UK has used 10 different starting lineups this season.
  • UK has started a freshman in 94-of-126 games during the Matthew Mitchell era, including 62 consecutive.
  • Key Run: With the score knotted at 47 all, LSU turned the ball over, setting the Cats up for a final play. A’dia Mathies found Brittany Henderson in the paint who hit the game-winning bucket with 0.04 seconds remaining.
  • UK’s defense held LSU to just 29.5 percent from the floor, marking the fourth time this season the Cats have held their opponent under 30 percent. UK is 3-1 when doing so.
  • The Wildcats were 2-of-11 (25.0 percent) from beyond the arc. UK has now hit a three-pointer in 248 consecutive games, dating back to the 2003-04 season.
    • The two three-pointers tied the season low. UK also hit just two three-pointers vs. Miami (OH) on Nov. 14 and South Carolina Feb. 10.
  • Kentucky recorded an SEC-high seven blocks in the game. UK’s previous high in blocks during SEC play was five against Alabama Jan. 30 and South Carolina Feb. 10.
  • UK forced LSU into 25 turnovers, including 15 in the first half. The Cats have now forced double-digit miscues in 73 consecutive games, dating back to the 2008-09 season, and are now 52-21 during that span.
    • The Wildcats scored 16 points off of those miscues.
    • Kentucky has forced 25 or more turnovers 11 times this season and is 10-1 when doing so. The only loss came against Georgia (28) on Jan. 9.
  • The Cats are now 33-27 in the Matthew Mitchell era in games decided by 10 points or less, including 5-4 this season.

Individual Game Notes

  • Sophomore guard A’dia Mathies scored a team-high 16 points for the second-straight game while recording a game-high four steals and two assists.
    • Scored 11 of her game-high 16 points in the second half and at one point strung together seven straight points from the 8:38 mark to 6:01 remaining in the game, putting the Wildcats up 40-37.
    • Only Wildcat to score at least one point in all 25 games.
    • Has now scored in double-figures 46 times in her career.
  • Senior forward Victoria Dunlap recorded 15 points and team-high three blocks.
    • With three steals today and 77 on the season, Dunlap moved into eighth place on UK’s single-season steals list, passing Stacey Reed who had 75 during the 1994-95 season.
    • Has scored in double figures 22 times this season, including 14 consecutive, and 89 times in her career.

Sophomore forward Brittany Henderson scored four points, including the game-winning basket.

  • Grabbed a game-high five rebounds while also recording one block and one steal.

Freshman Jennifer O’Neill hit a 3-pointer for the 10th consecutive game.
