FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.?The University of Kentucky men?s tennis team used a blistering attack to upend Arkansas for a 6-1, victory this afternoon at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center.

Kentucky?s doubles duos at No. 2 and No. 3 guided the visitors to an early 1-0 lead. The tandem of senior Peter Bjork and junior Will Ward stretched their unbeaten streak to a perfect 8-0 with a dominating 8-2 victory over Jorge Villanueva and Dmitry Vlaskin. Freshman Roman Ogarkov and junior Marcus Sundh clinched the point with a win at No. 3 doubles taking an 8-6 victory over Gabriel Mattos and Bradwin Williams.

Sundh picked up the first win of the day taking Vlaskin in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. Ward followed suit on his way to his second straight conference victory with a win at No. 2 singles defeating Colin Mascall, 6-1, 6-3. Bjork clinched the match for the Wildcats when he easily defeated Andrei Nicoara, 6-2, 6-1.

Sophomores Kenny Hodge and Shane Collins earned victories at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively ensuring a dominating Wildcat victory. Hodge needed three-sets to overcome Dmitry Lebdev, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (5). Collins earned his second conference win of the season when he needed only two sets to down Williams, 7-6(5), 6-4.

The only loss of the day for the Blue and White was No. 1 singles where No. 68 Bruno Agostinelli fell to No. 90 Blake Strode in three sets. Agostinelli jumped out in front first with a 6-3 win, but Strode answered with a 6-3 second set win of his own. Because the match had already been decided, the pair played a third-set tie-breaker where Strode prevailed 1-0 (8).

Kentucky improves its record to 8-6, 2-2, while Arkansas falls to 6-12, 0-4. The Blue and White will get a week off before they entertain Indiana State and Murray State on March 18.
