Sophomore Kristen O?Shields was named UK Gymnast of the Week by the coaching staff for her efforts in Kentucky?s meet at Oregon State last weekend. O?Shields provided the Cats with a balanced performance, which included a 9.8 on vault, 9. 775 on beam and a career-high 9.875 on floor. The native of Cartersville, Ga. currently ranks in the top 25 among Central Region gymnasts for all three events. As a team, the Cats scored the third highest team total in program history (196.100) en route to a second place finish at the Salbasgeon Suites Invitational.

This weekend, the No. 18 Cats (14-6) will attempt to become the first-ever UK squad to reach the 15-win plateau as they head to the SEC Championships, Sat., Match 25, at Birmingham, Ala.
