LEXINGTON ? Kentucky pitcher Kalen Gibson joined outfielder Billy Grace as a preseason All-SEC member as named by SEbaseball.com.
The junior from Slaughters, Ky., was named to the third-team as a starting pitcher. Last year, Gibson anchored the Wildcat rotation and was twice named SEC Pitcher of the Week.
In those two outings, he shutdown top ten foes Auburn and South Carolina to help Kentucky win each series. Gibson finished 2004 with a 5-3 record overall and held opponents to just a .268 batting average.
Gibson is the top returning pitcher for the Kentucky baseball program heading into the 2005 season, which begins Feb. 18 at Charleston, S.C.
