Reserve Led UK to Win over No. 6 North Carolina
Marquis Estill earned Southeastern Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday for his performance in leading UK to a 93-76 win over North Carolina.
Estill came off the bench to record his first double-double — 19 points and 11 rebounds — and blocked four Carolina shots. He was 8-of10 shooting from the floor and made his only three-pointer.
Through the four games he’s played, Estill leads the team and the SEC in blocked shots (12), ranks third at UK in scoring (11.8 ppg), first in rebounding (8.5 rpg) and is shooting 59.4% from the field.
It’s the sophomore’s first SEC Player of the Week award and the Wildcats first of the season.
