(Oct. 7, 2000) — The University of Kentucky women’s golf team improved to 10th place in the Franklin Street Trust Tar Heel Invitational following their October 7 round of competition in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Lady Kats are led by sophomore Kelly Anders, who moved into ninth place with her two-day total of 5-over-par 149.
The Kats posted a team score of 314 in Saturday’s round to bring their total to 623, 38 strokes behind leader Duke. Furman’s Jennifer Perri and Duke’s Kalen Anderson are tied for the individual lead with scores of even-par 144.
Other UK scores include junior Kristen Pepe, who is tied for 34th with a total of 157, and sophomore Rachel Lester, who is tied for 41st with her tally of 158. Junior Towa Okiyama is tied for 48th with a score of 160, while senior Jenny Throgmorton rounds out the UK staff tied for 71st with a score of 164.
