“We are getting geared up for Auburn. We think they have one of the best point guards in the conference with Doc Robinson. They go pretty deep. Both teams have a lot to play for so we can wrap up the SEC regular season.”

“Doc Robinson is a scoring point guard for Auburn. He looks for his shot and it puts more pressure on Wayne (Turner) and Jeff (Sheppard). He can shoot with range and he go by you and make excellent passes. That is where your defense starts is at the point guard, and where he is can put pressure on the opposing team.”

“Jamaal (Magloire) missed practice yesterday with a sore throat. He should be back (in practice) today, healthy. He has been working hard to improve in the areas of free throw shooting and outside shooting.”

“I am happy to see Allen Edwards play better. I think he is playing with a lot more confidence. We can count on him and that he is capable of playing well.”

“Wayne (Turner) is a strong point guard. We want him to play physical, but we want him to play without fouling. He is in control of his fouling which has been a big help. He is making the shots and penetrating and getting to the basket.”

“I think that we are focusing on team chemistry and improving in the area of leadership. Those guys that were part of the success Kentucky has had in the past now have to convey that to those who have experience in postseason play.”

“I think we have the psychological edge to go on the road and play well going into the tournament.”

“I think that our depth had been a big part of our success. We have had some people step up and make some big contributions. I think this helps us to play in Maui, Phoenix and Buffalo. These are neutral crowds that are not in our conference. It will help prepare us for games on the road.”

On trying to figure out what Kentucky’s NCAA seed will be: “It is not up to us. If it were up to me, I would say the No. 1 seed. You can control it if you do the things you are supposed to do. That is what I concern myself with, controlling things we can control and go from there.”
