DALLAS, Texas – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis doubles tandem of Kelly Brown and Massoumeh Emami reached the consolation finals of this weekend’s Rolex/ITA National Indoor Championships.

Brown and Emami, after falling in opening round action, rebounded to post wins over the eighth-ranked duo of Rebekah Forney and Michelle Faucher of Texas, 7-5, 7-5, and Petra Gaspar and Karin Ptaszak of Brigham Young-Hawaii, 5-7, 6-1, 7-6 (5). In the final, Brown and Emami battled valiantly before falling, 6-4, 6-4, to Courtney Chapman and Agnes Muzamel of Mississippi.

The Rolex/ITA Indoor event marks the second consecutive Grand Slam consolation doubles final Brown and Emami have reached. The UK duo won the consolation final at the All-American Championships in October.

Emami also gained a wildcard entry into the singles draw, where she reached the consolation semifinals. In the semifinal match, Emami dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision to 32nd-ranked Amanda Augustus of California.
