GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Lady Kat golfers are in 13th place after the first day of action at the Lady Paladin Friday. UK shot a team-total of 323 in the first round, and sophomore Jenny Throgmorton, who hit a 7-over-par 79, is leading the Kentucky team.

UK is behind first-place Georgia by 18 strokes. Georgia shot a team-total 305 on the first day of the tournament. Auburn’s Robin Cook leads the golfers after shooting an par-72 in the first round.

Throgmorton is tied with seven other golfers for 25th place. Other Lady Kat results include junior Jenny Dugans 8-over-par 80, which places her tied for 33rd. One stroke behind Dugan is freshman Towa Okiyama, who shot an 81 in the first round, tying her for 46th. Junior Chanda Day is tied for 60th place after hitting a 83 and freshman Kristen Pepe shot an 86, placing her in 79th place.
