LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s tennis team’s 2014 recruiting class has been tabbed as the No. 3 class in the nation, it was announced by TennisRecruiting.net on Monday afternoon.

The Wildcats recruiting class hauled in by second-year head coach Cedric Kauffmann and second-year assistant coach Matt Emery consists of four players, with four being from the United States, and one from Mexico.

With the No. 3 ranking in the national standings, the 2014 recruiting class is the highest-rated class in the history of Kentucky men’s tennis, according to the TennisRecruiting.net rankings. UK’s previous high in the ratings was No. 6 back in 2008.

Kentucky’s 2014 class currently consists of five players, including blue-chipper Trey Yates from Dunwoody, Georgia. Yates headlines the 2014 class, which also includes two five-star players in William Bushamuka (Princeton, N.J.) and Jake Stefanik (Coral Springs, Fla.).

Gerardo Lopez from Mexico rounds out the 2014 class, which will add five talented players to a roster which will lose six seniors after the 2014 season concludes.

The Wildcats are back in action on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET as Kentucky travels to South Bend, Ind., for a rematch with No. 29 Notre Dame.
