Perri Bockrath, Tori Herman Post UK All-Time Top-Five FInishes at Joe Walker Invitational
OXFORD, Miss. – Junior Perri Bockrath and freshman Tori Herman posted top-five times on the Kentucky all-time lists during the Joe Walker Invitational Friday at the University of Mississippi.
Bockrath finished second among 14 competitors in the 3000m steeplechase. Her clocking of 10:07.49 improved her personal best by more than 25 seconds and landed her in second place in UK history in that event.
Herman finished 8th in the field of 35 runners in the 1500-meter run. Her time of 4:18.52 is a personal best and improved her standing of No. 5 in UK history in that event. She missed the UK freshman record by less than one-half second.
Inclement weather arrived during the evening, forcing a postponement of the final four events until Saturday. A revised schedule for Saturday is listed below.
Kentucky does not have a complete squad at this week’s meet, with the focus being primarily on distance events and limited sprint action. UK does not have any field events competitors to the meet.
