LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s and women’s cross country squads were named All-Academic Teams for the 2020 season as announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The UK men’s team has a composite grade-point average of 3.426 and the UK women have a composite GPA of 3.418.  In order to earn the accolade, a team must have a composite GPA of at least 3.0.

In addition, Jenna Gearing earned the individual honor for All-Academic. A transfer from Clemson, Gearing notched a 3.84 GPA with a major in Sports Communications while with the Tigers.  In her one semester at UK, Gearing has a 4.0 GPA in Professional and Technical Writing. In order to qualify for the individual honor, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 GPA and participate in the NCAA meet or finish in the top five of the conference meet.  Gearing finished second at the Southeastern Conference meet last fall.
