Wildcats Remain in 14th Following Two Rounds in Birmingham
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Kentucky men’s golf team remains in 14th through 36 holes of action at The Collegiate Invitational at the Country Club of Birmingham among a field that features 13 teams ranked in the top 50 of the latest Golfstat rankings. Sophomore Alex Goff shaved two strokes off his opening day score for a 75 to lead the Wildcats on Tuesday. All 14 teams shot above par during the second round.
The final round concludes Wednesday beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET. UK will tee off from the 10th alongside Alabama and Mississippi State at 9:40 a.m. Live scoring will be provided by golfstat.com.
Goff had a pair of birdies on two of his first four holes to get his round going. The Kings Mountain, North Carolina, native moved into a tie for 61st overall with a combined 10-over score for the tournament.
No. 19 Tennessee and fourth-ranked Clemson are tied at 3-over par for the tournament. No. 22 North Florida is in third at 8-over par. No. 21 Arkansas (+9) and No. 48 Ole Miss (+11) round out the top five.
Graduate student Reid Bedell sits in a tie for 53rd to lead all of Kentucky’s starters on the individual leaderboard. He fired a 77 during Tuesday’s second round.
Senior Allen Hamilton is in 71st, while graduate student Jacob Cook is tied for 72nd overall. Hamilton had a 79 and Cook shot his second straight 78. Junior Zach Norris carded an 80 and moved into a tie for 75th.
Freshman Hugo Archer is tied for 61st following Tuesday’s 80. He leads UK’s trio of individual players on the leaderboard. Sophomore Cooper Parks is tied with Cook at 72nd. He had a 79 during the second round. Sophomore Jackson LaLonde is tied for 79th following an 83.
