UK Gymnastics to Compete in SEC Championships on SEC Network
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The No. 14 Kentucky Wildcats (4-4, 4-3 Southeastern Conference) are set to compete in Session I of the SEC Championships on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET, live on SEC Network.
The Cats will go head-to-head with No. 15 Auburn (1-7, 1-6 SEC) and No. 23 Missouri (2-6, 2-5 SEC), while No. 16 Georgia (3-5, 2-5 SEC) will not compete as originally scheduled due to positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing within the program.
At the end of the night, Session I scores will be compared to those of Session II—which includes No. 1 Florida (8-0, 7-0 SEC), No. 4 LSU (5-3, 4-3 SEC) and No. 9 Arkansas (3-5, 3-4 SEC)—to determine the league’s team and individual champions.
Kentucky earned head-to-head wins against Auburn, Missouri, LSU and Arkansas in the regular season.
The Wildcats are led into Saturday by three all-around performers whose individual National Qualifying Scores rank among the best in the nation in No. 12 Raena Worley (39.538), No. 21 Josie Angeny (39.425) and No. 26 Bailey Bunn (39.375).
Saturday marks the first SEC Championship since 2019, after last season’s competition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
