Bailey Bunn Named SEC Co-Freshman of the Week
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following No. 15 Kentucky’s 197.000-196.675 victory over No. 5 Arkansas last Friday, the Wildcats’ Bailey Bunn was named Southeastern Conference Co-Freshman of the Week on Tuesday.
Bunn is fresh off the third straight all-around performance of her first collegiate season, leading all freshmen across the SEC with a career-high 39.350. The Greenville, North Carolina, native also reset a new season high on uneven parallel bars with a 9.850, while tying season highs on vault (9.850) and balance beam (9.825).
With a 9.825 floor exercise routine, Bunn has scored 9.800 or better on the event in every meet this season.
Kentucky (3-2, 3-1 SEC) is set to return to action on the road next Friday, facing No. 1 Florida (5-0, 4-0 SEC) at 7 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
Missouri’s Amaya Marshall joined Bunn as a fellow SEC Co-Freshman of the Week honoree.
