Team Records and Series Notes

  • Kentucky is 18-5 (7-4 SEC), while Arkansas is 19-5 (7-4 SEC).      
  • Kentucky is 841-545 all-time.
    • UK is 6-3 on the road this season.
  • This was the 38th all-time meeting between Kentucky and Arkansas in women’s basketball.
    • UK leads the all-time series 24-14.
    • Arkansas leads the series in games played in Fayetteville, 10-7.
    • Kentucky had won 10 straight meetings against Arkansas including 18 of 19 before Sunday’s result.
  • Matthew Mitchell is in his 13th season as the head coach of the Wildcats.
    • Mitchell is 329-159 overall in his career and 299-130 during his tenure at Kentucky.
  • Kentucky is ranked 15 in the latest AP Top 25 and No. 15 in the latest USA Today/Coaches Top 25.
  • The Wildcats will return to action Sunday, Feb. 16 when they play host to top-10 ranked Mississippi State inside Memorial Coliseum. The game will tip at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN2.   

 
Team Notes

  • Kentucky used the starting combination of senior guards Amanda Paschal, Sabrina Haines and Jaida Roper, junior forward KeKe McKinney and senior forward Ogechi Anyagaligbo.  
    • This was the first time this season that UK has used this starting combination.
    • Ogechi Anyagaligbo scored first for Kentucky in the game, hitting a layup on UK’s first possession. This was the second time this season that Anyagaligbo has been the first Wildcat to score.  
  • Arkansas scored 38 first-half points which was the second-most points UK has allowed in the first half this season. The Razorbacks led by three at the half marking the sixth time this season and fourth time in SEC play that UK has trailed at the break.
    • UK is 3-2 overall and 1-2 in league play when it trails at the half.
  • Arkansas went 14-of-21 from 3 in the game, which was the most 3s UK has allowed in a game this season.
    • Arkansas was 8-of-10 from 3 in the second half. 
  • UK went 11-of-30 from 3 in the game marking the 11th time this season that the Wildcats have hit 10 or more 3s.
  • Arkansas scored 103 points in the game, which is the most points UK has allowed in a game this season.
  • UK scored an SEC game-high 82 points.

 
Player Notes

  • Sophomore guard Rhyne Howard scored 20 points in the game with three rebounds. 
    • This was the first game Howard has played since injuring her finger against Auburn on Jan. 27.
    • Howard has scored in double figures in every game but one this season, including 20 or more points in 14 games.
    • Howard has 986 career points needing just 14 more to join the 1,000-point club. She is on pace to be the second fastest to 1,000 in program history.
    • In 52, career game Howard has recorded some impressive numbers:
      • Hit at least one 3 in 46 career games
      • Made three or more 3s in 22 games
      • Made five or more 3s in 9 games
      • Scored 10+ points in 45 games
      • Scored 15+ points in 36 games
      • Scored 20+ points in 24 games
      • Scored 25+ points in 14 games
      • Scored 30+ points in 3 games
      • Led UK in scoring in 31 games
      • Led UK in rebounding in 28 games
  • Junior guard Chasity Patterson scored a career-best 32 points in the game.
    • Patterson went 5-of-7 from long range in the game and 11-of-17 overall.
    • Patterson is the third Wildcat to score 30+ points in a game this season, joining Howard and Roper.
    • This was Patterson’s third 20+ scoring game this season and the sixth 10+ of the year.
    • Patterson’s five 3s were a career high in makes from long range.
