Bowden, Daniel and Stenberg to attend SEC Football Media Days

by Cole Bollinger

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lynn Bowden, Jr., Kash Daniel, and Logan Stenberg will travel with Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops on Thursday for Southeastern Conference Football Media Days in Hoover, Alabama.

Bowden, Daniel, Stenberg and Stoops are scheduled to begin interviews at 9 a.m. CT on Thursday at the Wynfrey Hotel, and going continuously until 12:15 p.m. CT. The four-day event returns to the Birmingham area after being held at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta in 2018.

Bowden, a junior from Youngstown, Ohio, broke the school record for most catches by a sophomore in school history with 67 last season as well as returning punts for touchdowns against Penn State and Missouri. The punt return touchdown against Penn State was the first punt return for a score in the Citrus Bowl since 1992 and UK’s first punt return for a touchdown in a bowl game in school history.

Bowden was named to the All-Bowl Team last season by the AP and USA Today, and as the Second-Team All-SEC All-Purpose Performer by SEC head coach and Athlon.

Daniel, from Paintsville, Kentucky, returns for his senior year after being a team captain last season. Daniel was third on the team in total tackles (84) and tackles for loss (7.5) a season ago and was tied for 24th in the SEC in tackles per game (6.3). He played with a broken left hand sustained against Vanderbilt on Oct. 20 and had surgery on Oct. 22 to insert two screws. Daniel had a career-high tying 11 tackles at Florida and against Central Michigan.

Stenberg, who hails from Madison, Alabama, has played in 38 career games during his first three years as a Wildcat and started the last 26. He was named to a preseason Second-Team All-American by the Sporting News for this upcoming season.

In 2018, Stenberg started all 13 games helping Benny Snell, Jr. become the first player in program history to record three consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons. Stenberg graded out at 85.5 percent for the season, registering 78 knockdown blocks and 154 blocks at the point of attack. He did not miss a single assignment all season and allowed just one sack.

Coverage of SEC Media Days will be available on the SEC Network and the SEC’s official website, SECSports.com. UKathletics.com will also have coverage of the event throughout the day.
