Bench-Back Seating to Be Added in Kroger Field North Upper Level

by Guy Ramsey

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Installation is underway on new bench-backs in the North upper level at Kroger Field, the last in a series of projects to create more comfortable seating for Kentucky football games.

Started in early May, this project will bring bench-back seating to all seats in sections 201-203 and 209-211 that did not previously have bench backs. In total, nearly 5,000 seats will be affected by the project, which will be completed prior to the start of the 2019 season.

UK Athletics has now reached its goal of installing bench-back or chair-back seating throughout Kroger Field, with the exception of the student section where bleacher seating will remain to accommodate as many students as possible. Through the renovation of the stadium completed in 2015, bench-back or chair-back seating was installed along both sidelines in the lower level. Before the 2016 season, the remainder of seats in the lower level were outfitted with bench backs, with the exception of the student section in the East end zone. Prior to the 2017 season, bench-back seating was added to the remainder of the South upper-level. Sections 204-208 in the North upper level followed before last season. UK Athletics has made these investments in response to fan feedback about seat comfort at Kroger Field.

Season and single-game ticket prices in the North upper level will not change from pricing announced in January due to the installation of bench-back seating. The majority of season-ticket seats in this area are available for $280 apiece with no corresponding K Fund donation attached.

Season tickets are still available at UKFootballTix.com starting at $280 apiece. Fans are able to use the Kentucky Football Virtual Venue to view and compare available seat locations and experience a 360-degree virtual view from the seats inside Kroger Field. No-interest payment plans are available for new season ticket purchases. Additionally, the Kentucky Football Pocket Pass has returned for the 2019 season, which includes a mobile ticket to all eight home games. Pocket Passes are priced at $250 each, after selling the first 500 Passes at the introductory rate of $225.
