LEXINGTON, Ky. – Coming off back-to-back 196-point performances versus Southeastern Conference opponents, No. 17 Kentucky (3-4, 1-2 SEC) hosts No. 5 LSU (3-2, 1-2 SEC) in the latter half of the season’s only pair of consecutive home meets on Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET. The contest will be televised live on the SEC Network.
When the Tigers visit Memorial Coliseum, it will mark the Wildcats’ second matchup with an opponent ranked in the top five of the sport’s national standings in the last three weeks. After totaling 196.650 at No. 3 Florida on Jan. 25, the Cats followed the season-high output with a 196.000 benchmark at No. 11 Auburn last Friday.
Kentucky has been led in 2019 by the nation’s 12th-ranked vault rotation, averaging 49.035 per outing. Junior Mollie Korth earned the team’s best individual vault score of the season last Friday with a 9.925 consensus.
In addition to Korth’s performance, several other Cats set new season-highs versus Auburn. Sidney Dukes earned the best score of her senior campaign on bars (9.825) and as an all-around competitor (39.325). Senior Alex Hyland joined Korth with a new season-high on vault (9.875), as did junior Alaina Kwan (9.800).
LSU has finished under 197 in every meeting but one in the series’ all-time head-to-head count in Lexington, though Kentucky has not defeated the Tigers since 2011.
