Kentucky Wraps Vandy Black & Gold Invitational
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Alison D’Alessandro and Nicole Bagby tied for third in the women’s pole vault, Kennedy Krieg was fourth in the women’s discus and Jasmine Mitchell was fifth in the 400m to round out this weekend’s Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invitational.
UK’s freshman pole vault duo cleared 12’1.50″/3.70 meters.
Krieg tossed a discus mark of 121’10″/37.13m.
Mitchell ran 56.80.
Will Walker ran a time of 54.92 in the 400m hurdles to finish seventh.
Caitlin Shepard’s second-place 5,000-meter personal best was the top result for Kentucky on Friday.
The sophomore quickened her PB 5k time by 27 seconds to 17:04.64.
Janie O’Connor took third place in the women’s 200m with a time of 24.54.
Kennedy Krieg earned a top-five place in the women’s hammer throw.
UKTF weekend note
Kentucky Class of 2013 two-time Southeastern Conference Champion Luis Orta placed 48th in the IAAF World Half Marathon Championship, running a personal-best, Venezuelan record 1:03.09.
