No. 6 Kentucky Heads to No. 16 Auburn to Continue SEC Competition

AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 6 Kentucky (4-1, 1-1 SEC) gymnastics team continues Southeastern Conference action on Friday when UK travels to the Auburn Arena to face No. 16 Auburn (2-3, 1-1 SEC). The meet will begin at 8:30 p.m. ET and will be shown live on the SEC Network with Laura Rutledge and Lauren Sisler on the call.
 
Kentucky is 1-1 in SEC play this season after opening up the conference season with a win at Arkansas. UK fell to Florida last weekend at home, 196.325 – 195.950.
 
Scouting the Tigers
Auburn is No. 16 in the nation and is averaging a score of 195.650. The Tigers had a road score of 196.375 at Georgia last weekend. AU is No. 12 nationally on the vault with an average score of 49.008 and on beam with an average score of 49.017.
 
Kentucky in the Team Rankings
Kentucky dropped one spot to No. 6 in the latest Road to Nationals poll. UK is the third-highest ranked SEC team, behind No. 2 LSU and No. 5 Florida. Kentucky is averaging a score of 196.325 and the high is 196.950.
 
Kentucky in the Event Rankings
The Wildcats shot up the beam rankings to No. 2 in the nation. UK is averaging a score of 49.217 so far, and posted its high of 49.350 last weekend against Florida. Oklahoma is the only team higher, with an average score of 49.350. Kentucky is No. 5 on the floor, with an average score of 49.242. UK matched its beam score against Florida with a 49.350 last weekend. The Wildcats are No. 6 on the vault with an average mark of 49.100 and No. 24 on bars with an average of 48.767.
 
Finishing Strong
After a falling off the bars twice, Kentucky came back to post back-to-back 49.350s. The floor score tied the sixth-highest score in program history, while the beam tied the fourth-highest score in school history.
 
Individual Titles
Mollie Korth won her second-straight all-around title after coming up with a 39.5. Korth also won the vault title with a 9.925, splitting the title with Rachel Slocum of 9.925.
