LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s golf program and Isabella Johnson have signed an agreement, it was announced by head coach Golda Borst on Wednesday.
Johnson, a transfer from Middle Tennessee, where she recently set the single-season, stroke-average school record with a 72.23, will join the program as a junior in 2026-27.

Isabella Johnson, a Murfreesboro, Tennessee, native, spent her freshman season at Tennessee in 2024-25 followed by her sophomore season at Middle Tennessee in 2025-26.
She is coming off a sensational season at MTSU, not only assembling a career-best, single-season stroke average but also breaking the school record with her 72.23. She played in all 12 events – 34 rounds – there, putting together 19 par-or-better rounds, which also was a school record, and five finishes in the top five. Of those 12 events, she led her team in nine of them. And of her 34 rounds, she contributed to the team total in all 34.
Johnson also put together a career-best, 18-hole round of 67 (-5) and a career-best, 54-hole tournament of 212 (-4) for the Blue Raiders.
In her most recent college tournament, she finished in the top 15 at the NCAA Louisville Regional in May, which marked the best finish for an individual qualifier in program history.
Johnson concluded her time in Murfreesboro as a Conference-USA First Team selection and a C-USA All-Academic First Team pick.
Just the summer before joining the Blue Raiders, Johnson was pegged the Tennessee Golf Association (TGA) Women’s Player of the Year after winning the Tennessee Women’s Amateur at Chattanooga Golf & Country Club. She went on to finish sixth at the Tennessee Women’s Open and then represented the Volunteer State at the U.S. Women’s Amateur at Bandon Dunes.
The summer before that, she won the 2024 TGA Girls’ Junior Player of the Year.
