First Round:

  • Kentucky is tied with Michigan State for seventh place out of 12 teams on an 8-over after the first round, eight shots back of the top three and 12 shots back of leader Kansas (-4).
  • Two players are sitting in the top 20 on the individual leaderboard after the first round – Cathryn Brown and Isabella Johnson.
  • Brown, a senior from Eddyville, Kentucky, who was the team’s stroke-average leader last season (72.1), is pacing the team on an even-par 72.
    • It is the 42nd consecutive round that her score has contributed to the team total, a stretch that dates back to her sophomore season in Spring 2025.
    • Brown led the team with five birdies in the first round, including two in her final four holes, which helped her get back to even par before holes ran out.
    • In 29 tournaments in her college career, she has scored a par-or-better in the first round 13 times.
  • Johnson, a junior from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, who transferred to Kentucky after a season at Middle Tennessee, made her first start for Kentucky on Monday.
    • In her first appearance for the Wildcats, she recorded a 1-over to find T16.
  • Brooke Oberparleiter, a senior from Laurel Spring, New Jersey, made her return to the lineup for the first time since October 2025. She competed in just one tournament last season because of injury.
