No. 5 Florida Sweeps Kentucky With 9-0 Sunday Win
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 5 Florida Gators completed the sweep of Kentucky with a 9-0 win in six innings Sunday afternoon.
The Gators scored five runs in the first, added a run in the third and then closed out the win with a two-out, full-count, three-run home off the bat of Jocelyn Erickson to put UF up by nine.
Kentucky will next play at Houston on Wednesday night as it begins a four-game Texas swing prior to making its way to College Station for next weekend’s SEC series with No. 15 Texas A&M at Davis Diamond.
Florida finishes the weekend with a 27-1 overall record and sit 6-0 in SEC play. Kentucky is now 19-9 and 1-5 in the SEC

Sarah Haendiges was Kentucky’s key player, throwing 5.2 innings in relief with three strikeouts.

Jocelyn Erickson’s home run was the key moment in the top of the sixth with the Wildcats only sitting one pitch from getting out of the jam.

Freshman Hailey Nutter started the game and went 0.1 innings with five runs on four hits. Haendiges then threw the rest of the game.
