LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 16/18 University of Kentucky women’s basketball program (20-7, 7-6 Southeastern Conference) will rematch No. 5/6 Vanderbilt (24-3, 10-3 SEC) in Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

Darren Headrick will have the Kentucky-Vanderbilt radio call for UK Sports Network on 630 AM WLAP in Lexington and on 790 AM WKRD in Louisville. It also will be carried on SiriusXM channels 161 and 192 and on the SiriusXM App.
Big Blue Nation also can watch the game on ESPN2, with Sam Gore and Brooke Weisbrod on the call.
It will mark the second meeting between UK and VU this season, serving as each other’s home-and-home opponent in 2025-26. Despite dropping the earlier contest by just one point, 83-82, it was a battle that featured seven lead changes on Feb. 5.
Kentucky went 56.4 percent from the field, while Vanderbilt went 44.4 percent. Kentucky also outrebounded Vanderbilt, 39-21. However, Kentucky had 20 turnovers, while Vanderbilt had just six. The Commodores scored 25 points off the Wildcats’ miscues.
Nonetheless, UK became the only Division I women’s team to accomplish all of the following stats in the same game against an Associated Press Top 10 opponent since at least 2002-03: Score at least 83 points; shoot at least 56.0 percent overall from the field; shoot at least 60.0 percent from 2; shoot at least 50.0 percent from 3; make at least 10 3-pointers; have at least 23 assists; have a rebounding margin of at least +18.
Since that game on Feb. 5, Kentucky put up a fighting performance in a loss at No. 4/4 Texas before taking triumphs over Texas A&M – who has defeated two top 20 teams in its last four games – and No. 14/16 Ole Miss.
In each of those games, UK had its best scoring runs of league action so far – 16-0 against TAMU and 19-0 against UM. UK also had its best halftime leads of league action so far – up 20 against TAMU and up 19 against UM. UK’s defense also held both opponents to fewer than 60 points and less than 34.0 percent shooting from the field.
The Wildcats improved to 25-0 under head coach Kenny brooks when it holds opponents to fewer than 60 points.
One common factor in UK’s consecutive wins is Coach Brooks’ lineup change. In an effort to allow graduate guard Jordan Obi to play in her more natural position, she has been first off the bench and Asia Boone has been starting in her place at the two spot.
It’ll be a tall task to contain the high-powered Commodore offense, this time on their home court. The Dores are eighth in the nation in scoring offense (85.0 ppg) and 16th in the nation in field-goal percentage (47.2%). They’re also first in the league and fifth in the nation in 3-pointers per game, putting up 9.7.
The game will mark the 63rd all-time meeting between the two teams, while UK trails UV, 34-28 overall and 18-9 in Nashville.
