Wildcats Set to Wrap Up Regular Season at Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Kentucky (10-4-3. 4-2-3 SEC) will close its regular season campaign on Sunday, October 26, facing off against Texas A&M (5-6-5, 2-5-2 SEC) at 5 p.m. ET. The decision day clash from Ellis Field in College Station will be televised nationally on SEC Network with Alex Perlman and Marion Crowder on the call.

The Wildcats have already clinched a spot in the 2025 SEC Tournament, marking the program’s third consecutive appearance in the event. The Aggies are one of three teams—including Florida and Auburn—playing for the final two spots in Pensacola.

The Wildcats have already amassed the most SEC wins and conference points in the four-year tenure of Head Coach Troy Fabiano, currently ranking seventh in the league table with 15 points. Kentucky has also won double-digit matches for the second consecutive season, the first time since 2013-2014.

The Cats are led in scoring by the sophomore duo of Alexis Tylenda and Anna Sikorski, each totaling seven goals, four assists, and 18 points. Seniors Catherine Rapp and Thalia Morisi have each added five goals, with the latter scoring in each of the past two matches.

Kentucky continues to lead the nation in corner kicks with 144 tries this season, good enough for a clip of 8.47 per game. The Cats are also tops in the country in penalty kicks drawn at 12, with Tanner Strickland accounting for seven of those herself. Strickland’s seven PKs drawn outpaces all but three Division I programs (excluding Kentucky).

The Cats are seeking their first win away from Lexington this season, holding a 0-1-3 record in road matches. Kentucky has played its last three road contests to 1-1 draws, earning points at Florida, Ole Miss, and LSU during the month of October.

Texas A&M enters the match on their best stretch of the season, earning all eight of their conference points in the last five matches, going 2-1-2 in that stretch with home wins over Texas and Missouri and road draws at Oklahoma and No. 8 South Carolina.

Kentucky is seeking its first win over the Aggies, holding an 0-8-2 record in the all-time series. In the last meeting in 2023, the Cats earned their first result at Ellis Field, playing Texas A&M to a 1-1 draw.

Depending on the result in College Station, as well as the other matches around the conference, the Wildcats could enter the SEC Tournament as any seed No. 4 through No. 8. Seeds 5-12 will open the conference tournament on Sunday, November 2 at the Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Florida. The winners from Sunday will play the top four seeds in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, November 4. The entire tournament will be televised live on the SEC Network.
