LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s soccer (3-0-0, 0-0-0 SEC) completes the shutout, 5-0,  while visiting the Dayton Flyers (1-2-0, 0-0-0 A-10) in a matchup on Thursday. The match featured four different goalscorers, with two from freshman Kyla Dawn.

Dawn got the action started early, as Dawn knocked in her first to the back of the goal at the five minute mark. The goal came off of a left-footed cross from Pino, who found Katherine Truitt’s head on the left wing and into the lap of Dawn in front of the keeper.

Just seven minutes later, the Wildcats jumped to 2-0 as Dawn juked and took on the Dayton defender in a foot race down field, finishing a tough goal without hesitation.

Kentucky continued to show poise on the defensive end throughout the match, as the offense in blue had much control over the road atmosphere. Truitt led the charge, playing a complete 18- minutes for the third time this season.

Before the half, the Wildcats extended their lead to 3-0, with freshman Sydney Arendarczyk finishing with her head on a left-footed assist from junior Lexi Tylenda from the wing.

In the final 45 minutes, the match continued to sway in favor of Kentucky. In the 58th minute of play, junior Juliette Rayo saw the beauty of a shot near the 18. It sailed into the upper left corner of the goal as Rayo scored her third goal in three matches.

With the last scoring action for the Wildcats, it was Kendall Campbell with the finish off of the pressure of the Dayton defense. The strike sailed in past the keep to wrap things up at 5-0 on the night at minute 68.

Running away with the 5-0 win, the Wildcats are now 3-0-0 on the season and have outscored their opponents so far 16-2 through three games.

They will return to the pitch a week from Thursday when they take another road trip to top-25 Ohio State on Thursday for a 7 p.m. start.
