LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky’s Leigh Bradwell and Brooke Skeen toppedteammates Carolina Mayorga and Sarah Witten 8-0 in an All-UK final Sundayat the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex to claim the doubles title at thefirst annual Kentucky Fall Invitational.
“Leigh and Brooke played flawless tennis,” UK Coach Mark Guilbeau said.”They really put on a doubles clinic in the final.”
The final was set earlier in the day, as Bradwell and Skeen beat top-seedsAnna Mitina and Ana Ceretto of Marshall 8-4 and Mayorga and Witten edgedthe tandem of UK’s Jill Buckley and Tennessee’s Meiling Parks 8-6.
In the singles final, Cincinnati’s Kara Molony, a Kentucky native, ralliedto best Marshall’s Anna Mitina 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.
The tennis Cats return to the courts later this week when they travel toWinston Salem, NC, for the Rolex Regional.
