University of Kentucky men’s tennis player Johan Grunditz has been named the PNC Bank Student-Athlete of theWeek for the week of Jan. 22-26. Grunditz, a junior from Hallstahammar, Sweden, is majoring in finance.

Grunditz has made the deans list each of his four semesters at UK, beginning in the fall of 1998. He was alsonamed to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll after the 1999-2000 season.

Grunditz chalked up an 8-5 record during the Tennis Cats fall season and claimed runner-up honors at the BallState Fall Invitational. UK will begin its dual match season on Saturday, Jan. 27, when they travel to Knoxville, Tenn.,to take on the College of William & Mary and East Tennessee State.
