Kentucky Softball Releases 2025 Schedule
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Softball team released its 2025 schedule Monday afternoon, headlined by 24 Southeastern Conference matchups, 18 home games at John Cropp Stadium and six games against teams that made the 2024 Women’s College World Series.
Kentucky will open the season for the third time in the past six seasons at the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association Lead-Off Classic in Clearwater, Florida, where UK will play five games beginning Friday, Feb. 7 running through Feb. 9 at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex. Kentucky will open its season with the Pitt Panthers at 10 a.m. ET on Feb. 7 while playing Notre Dame, Morgan State, Southern Miss and Iowa on opening weekend.
UK’s two-week stay in Clearwater will extend from Feb. 13-15 at the 2025 ESPN Shriners Children’s Elite Invitational at the same complex. During the four-day tournament, Kentucky will play three of those days, with games against Wichita State, Virginia, Clemson, Oklahoma State and UCLA. All games of the tournament will be broadcasted on ESPN2, ESPNU, ACC Network, SEC Network or ESPN+.
Kentucky’s 20-match road swing to start the season continues to Atlanta, where the Wildcats will play in Georgia Tech’s tournament from Feb. 21-23 before closing out non-conference tournament play the following weekend, Feb. 28-March 2 in Bowling Green, Kentucky at Western Kentucky University’s tournament.
The 24-game SEC schedule and home schedule at John Cropp Stadium kicks off March 7 as Kentucky will open up a three-game series with Missouri as part of a four-game homestand that ends with a marquee midweek matchup against Virginia Tech on Wednesday, March 12.
Kentucky will play the following weekend against LSU in Baton Rouge, one of its four SEC road trips on the season. UK will also travel in conference play to Arkansas (March 28-30), South Carolina (April 19-21) and Texas (May 1-3) in 2025. In previously announced SEC home matchups, UK will host Missouri in addition to Ole Miss (March 21-23), Auburn (April 4-6) and Mississippi State (April 25-27) for Senior Weekend in Lexington.
Home midweek action in addition to Virginia Tech includes Stanford on March 25, who played in the 2024 Women’s College World Series, Dayton (March 18), Marshall (April 9), Western Kentucky (April 15) and Northern Kentucky (April 29).
The 2025 Southeastern Conference Tournament will be hosted by the University of Georgia at Jack Turner Stadium from May 6-10 with all 15 teams in the SEC making it. The tournament will be a single-elimination tournament with the top 8 seeds all receiving first-round byes.
The NCAA Tournament begins May 15 and runs through June 4 where a champion will be crowned in Oklahoma City at the 2025 Women’s College World Series.
