Kentucky Track & Field Releases Indoor Portion of 2024-25 Schedule

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky Track and Field program announced its schedule for the 2024-25 Indoor season on Friday, consisting of 11 meets across eight weeks of competition. Highlighting the regular season slate for the Cats is the annual Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational, hosted by Kentucky from January 10-11 at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center in Louisville.

The season will kick off in just under one month’s time, with the distance squad traveling to Boston for the Sharon Colyer-Danville Opener, hosted by Boston University on December 7. The December portion of the schedule will also feature an exciting addition, as the Wildcats will travel to the Derby City for a dual meet against Louisville on December 11.

As the calendar turns to 2025, the McCravy will ring in the New Year, with the program’s longstanding home meet taking place in Louisville for the second consecutive year.

The following weekend, split squads will compete at two meets from January 17-18. The distance runners and throwers will compete at the Vanderbilt Invitational, while the rest of the team will feature at the Corky Classic in Lubbock, Texas. Both meets are regular stops on the Wildcats’ schedule.

A return to the Razorback Invitational will be next for the Cats, as the Cats will return to the “Fastest Indoor Track in the World” from January 31-February 1. Held at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, 2025 will mark the third consecutive year of attendance for Kentucky at the midseason meet.

On February 8, Kentucky will race at the Fairgrounds Invitational in Indianapolis, hosted at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Fall Creek Pavilion. The regular season will close out on Valentine’s Day Weekend, with the distance squad returning to Boston for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational from February 14-15. On the same dates, the rest of the team will race at Clemson’s Tiger Paw Invitational, a stop on the Kentucky schedule in every season since 2018.

The SEC Indoor Championships will return to Texas A&M for the fifth time in the conference’s history, as the annual championship will be held from February 27-March 1 at the R.A. Fasken ’38 Indoor Track and Field Facility. Opened in January 2024, the conference meet will be the first championship held at the new track.

The top 16 performers in each event over the 2024-25 season will qualify to the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, set to be held at the Virgnia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va. from March 14-15. This will be the first time the Division I championships will be held in Virginia Beach, with the site hosting previous editions of the Division II championship.

38 men and 49 women comprise the 2024-2025 Track & Field roster, highlighted by defending SEC Indoor and Outdoor Triple Jump champion Luke Brown. Other All-Americans returning for the men include Shavique Bascus, Clinton Muunga, and Miles Jones. Tapiwanashe “Carlie” Makarawu, a transfer from New Mexico Junior College and Paris 2024 Olympic 200m finalist, leads 14 incoming freshmen and transfers for the Men’s team.

On the women’s side, returning All-Americans Kate Powers, Alexis Glasco, Payton Phillips, Oneika McAnnuff, and Cha’iel Johnson look to improve upon impressive 2024 campaigns. All-American Tesa Roberts and two-time OVC Championship MVP Aliyah Adams highlight a class of 18 newcomers.

The 2025 Outdoor schedule will be released at a later date.
