Slugger McKenzie Bump who just finished her four-year career at Ohio State has announced her transfer to Kentucky Softball for the 2025 season, where she will be immediately eligible to compete for the Wildcats.
Bump is a career .300 hitter for the Buckeyes, where she clubbed 21 doubles, a pair of triples and seven home runs for Ohio State in four years of competition. She logged 25 RBI in her sophomore campaign and 24 run batted in for her senior year in 2024 alongside a career-high five long balls this past year with the Buckeyes.
“McKenzie Bump will be a big addition to our offense as she has experience at the top of the order and brings both elite power and speed to the team,” UK head coach Rachel Lawson said. “She has a contagious competitive spirit that will resonate in our clubhouse and is incredibly driven to compete at the highest level in the SEC.”
Bump as a senior at Ohio State had a .410 on-base percentage in Big Ten games with a .336 batting average in conference games, which was second best on the club. She had 12 multi-hit games on the year and connected on back-to-back three-hit games against Wisconsin in conference action last year.
The senior from Edison, Ohio, interned during the summer of 2023 with Learfield as part of the Bucks Go Pro 1.0 program and was an Ohio State University Scholar-Athlete majoring in Marketing.
