Lakeland, Fla. – The University of Kentucky men’s golf team currently sits in 10th place at the annual Matlock Invitational in Lakeland, Fla., after the squad shot a two-round total of 604 on Monday, Feb. 18. The Cats sit 26 strokes back of leader Tulsa.
Freshman John Holmes, who currently sits in fifth place, leads the Wildcats. Holmes shot a 70 and a 71 in the first two rounds of competition to land himself only three strokes back of Colorado’s Ben Portiei and in prime position to take medalist honors after Tuesday’s final round.
The Matlock Invitational will conclude on Tuesday, Feb. 19 with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
