Did not throw a wild pitch all season? Struck out a season-high seven batters in a 13 inning loss to Arkansas (4/29)? Chalked up a win by throwing five innings, giving up only one run, striking out four and walking none in a 8-3 winning decision over Appalachian State (2/16)? Got the win in a 6-2 UK victory over Illinois in the Illini Desert Classic (2/15)? Fourth victory came in a 8-1 Kentucky win over Tennessee-Martin (3/14).
As a Freshman: Started 14 of 15 games in which he appeared, posting a 5-3 record…His 69.1 innings were the third most on the UK staff…Won his collegiate debut going 5.0 innings, allowing only four hits and no runs versus Howard (2/13)… Came on strong in the latter part of the season…Fell one out shy of tossing a complete game, going 8.2 innings against eventual NCAA Champion LSU (5/5)…Went 6.1 innings, striking out a season-high seven batters and only allowing two earned runs in the Cats’ 12-2 win over Cincinnati (4/18)… Pitched brilliantly in UK’s conference finale win over Vanderbilt on May 14, going 7.1 innings and surrendering only one run.

Lists being drafted in the 4th round by the New York Mets out of high school and winning the state championship in baseball as his most memorable moments in sports… Chose UK over Indiana, Michigan State, Ohio State and Cincinnati because of the people, the campus and the facilities.
