No. 8 Kentucky Continues Road Swing Through State of Alabama
No. 8 Kentucky continues its swing through the state of Alabama as it lands in Auburn for three days to take on the Tigers to wrap the first half of the Southeastern Conference schedule. The series will run Thursday through Saturday to accommodate an ESPNU national broadcast on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The Wildcats (27-5, 11-1 SEC) have built a ton of goodwill in racing through the league’s first month, delivering a program-best 11-1 start. The Cats are 5-1 on the road in what has proven to be a particularly difficult assignment for SEC clubs venturing outside their comfortable home surroundings.
UK was excellent last weekend in sweeping then-No. 11 Alabama, allowing just three runs in the process. Auburn (18-14, 2-10) has faced four ranked opponents in as many SEC weekends and been on the cusp but have yet to get over the hump just yet. Both teams are coming off defeats in Tuesday night’s midweek games – the Cats to a SoCon-leading Samford in the Birmingham area and the Tigers at home to Alabama State.
Both Friday and Saturday’s games will stream live on SECN+.
