No. 25 Kentucky Faces EKU in Midweek Home-and-Home Series
No. 25 Kentucky will play a rare back-to-back home-and-home this week against nearby Eastern Kentucky beginning Tuesday afternoon at Kentucky Proud Park and concluding on Wednesday night in Richmond.
Game time on Tuesday is 4 p.m. ET on SECN+ and Wednesday will be the Wildcats’ first night start at 6:30 p.m. at Earle Combs Stadium on the EKU campus. That game will stream on ESPN+ and both games will be available on radio via UKAthletics.com.
UK (10-1) is coming off a home sweep of Lipscomb, the Atlantic Sun Conference favorite, in which the Cats outscored the Bisons 32-6 on the weekend. UK hit .385 as a team and had 15 extra-base hits and 19 walks in the three-game series, while its pitchers held a potent Lipscomb offense to a .179 average and have pushed the UK team ERA to the 13th lowest in the nation. UK’s relievers are currently riding an 18-inning scoreless streak.
The Cats also currently are 10th in the first RPI rankings of the season. Righty Drew Lafferty on Tuesday is expected to get his third career start on the mound.
